Created by a decree published in the Official Journal on 21 March, the OPEN-C Foundation is a research infrastructure whose mission is to coordinate, develop and manage the sea trials of floating wind, tidal, wave and floating photovoltaic demonstrators. By becoming one of the five test sites of the Foundation, SEENEOH brings its infrastructure dedicated to the testing of intermediate scale tidal turbine demonstrators.
From an operational point of view, the Foundation takes over the operation of the site and the associated authorisations, relying directly on the operational teams made up of the shareholders of SAS SEENEOH who have been supporting the site since its creation in 2015, namely SEML Route des Lasers, CERENIS, VALOREM and Energie de la Lune, the latter two sitting as Founders on the Board of Directors of OPEN-C.
The result of three years of collective work, the establishment of OPEN-C will enable the consolidation, sustainability and dynamism of the Bordeaux site by giving it a research infrastructure dimension recognised at European level.
